                               RESOLUTION NO. 21268
                 
                 
                  A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN
                  FOR THE SOUTHERN STREET REDEVELOPMENT AREA.
                 
                 
                                                    
                 
                 
       	    	 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chattanooga, on
       September 17, 1996, requested that the Chattanooga Housing
       Authority perform studies and prepare a redevelopment plan for 
the
       Southern Street Redevelopment Area; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, pursuant to a public hearing held on January
       21, 1997, the Board of Commissioners of the Chattanooga Housing
       Authority has approved the redevelopment plan, attached hereto 
and
       made a part hereof, as evidenced by a duly certified copy of a
       resolution of said Board; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of said project and
       of the community that said redevelopment plan be approved;
       	    	 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
       THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That pursuant to the
       provisions of Chapter 20 of Title 13, Tennessee Code Annotated,
       the redevelopment plan for the Southern Street Redevelopment 
Area,
       dated December 6, 1996, is hereby approved; and

       	    	 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is hereby determined
       that the aforesaid redevelopment plan conforms to the general 
plan
       of the City of Chattanooga.
